COSMETOLOGY PROGRAM

Cosmetology is a 1000 hours program that includes the study and practice of all aspects of the beautification and care of the hair, skin, and nails.

SERVICES YOU’LL LEARN:

  • hair coloring (balayage, highlights, color theory, color correction, color blocking, retouching etc.)

  • hair cutting (men’s, women’s, kids’)

  • hair styling (all textures): roller sets, thermal ironing

  • chemical waving/straightening

  • braiding (all textures)

  • extensions (micro beads, tape-in, sew-in)

  • skin care (basic facials)

  • nail care (basic manicure, pedicure, acrylic)

  • makeup

  • waxing

  • brow lamination, lash lift, brow/lash tinting, lash extensions

  • 3 doll heads

  • thermal curling iron, flat iron, blow dry

  • color kit (bowl, brush, apron, cape + color bar available in
    school)

PROGRAM FORMAT

The curriculum for students enrolled in a cosmetology course consists of one thousand (1000) hours of technical instruction and practical training. Technical instruction includes instruction through demonstration, lecture, classroom participation, or examination; practical operation shall mean the actual performance by the student of a complete service on a person or on a mannequin.

EDUCATIONAL GOALS

Our primary goals are to provide a quality educational system that prepares students to pass the State Board examination and gain employment within their chosen field of study.

​PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

  • To educate and train students in the principles and practices of the profession of Cosmetology so they can successfully complete the examination by the State of California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology and obtain their Cosmetology license.

​

  • To perform skills in the areas of hair cutting, hair styling, hair coloring, skincare, make-up application, and manicuring.

​

  • To develop habits of orderly performance and good workmanship of various tasks of the Cosmetology profession.

​

  • To develop habits of the proper performance of Cosmetology in the interest of safety and hygiene for oneself and for others.

​

  • To impart ideals and attitudes of readiness to cooperate between employers and employees and the practice of the highest standard of professional and personal ethics.

​

  • To educate students in the fundamentals of successful business operations as they relate to the field of Cosmetology.

​

  • To assess the effectiveness of education course completion, licensure, and employment.
